Frequently
asked questions...
How do
you know each other?
Bryan's mother's best friend from high school is my college roommate's
mother. Too complicated? We met each other at Auburn University back around
1990. My roommate - Jerilee Bradford Fuller - and Bryan had known each other all
their lives and we all went to the same church, so we used to run into each
other.
How did
you end up together?
Since we never knew each other very
well in college, we lost touch after graduation - although I occasionally got
updates from Jerilee. Nearly a decade had passed before Bryan and I ran into each other
at church in Auburn on the Sunday morning after the Auburn vs. Mississippi State
game. That was October 2001. I gave Bryan a business card and a couple days later he sent
me an e-mail...
Did
anyone play cupid?
Not exactly but we did get some encouragement from a couple of people.
Jerilee and her mom and sister had come to visit me when I was living in London
and when I asked about Bryan, Mrs. Judy Bradford got all excited and said, "Oh
you would be perfect for each other!" It seemed kinda crazy since I figured
I would never see him again and we lived so far apart. That was October 1999.
Two years later, Mrs. Patty Spring saw me at church in Auburn one Sunday when
Bryan was there, too. She gave him a nudge and a smile with a comment about me
being single.
How long did
you date before you got engaged?
We went on our first
date in December 2001 and got engaged one year later.
How did
you manage a long
distance relationship?
Bryan lived in Florida and I lived in Texas. We were 750 miles apart so we had to rely on plane travel.
Fortunately, his work brings him to Dallas/Fort Worth about once a month. So we saw each other a couple of weekends a month, plus a week here
and there when business allowed, and survived an 8 day driving tour of Europe!
What
did you do for your first date?
Bryan met me at my parents'
house in Auburn, Alabama where we played fetch with Jakey-the-wonder-dog and
chatted with my mom and dad. Later, we went out to The Mellow Mushroom and The
Olde Auburn Ale House with my brother Steve and our friend Molly.
What advice would
you give to your single friends?
Don't take advice on love and
dating! It's invariably misguided.

These pictures were taken in a photo booth at a train station in Zurich, Switzerland on our first trip to Europe together (June 2002).
