Leah

November 2004

Back to Leah's home page!

It all began on a Friday afternoon in November...

Leah was born on Friday November 12th!

The first clothes we ever put on her were an orange and blue Auburn onesie with a matching bib, cap and socks. (see photo at right)

Leah watched the Auburn Tigers defeat Georgia and Alabama to round out a perfect football season!

She took her first car ride when we all went home from the hospital together on Tuesday November 16th.

We discovered that some of her 0-3 month clothes were too small at birth!

Leah met all 4 of her grandparents and two of her uncles, Hal and Steve, plus her dog cousin Jake.

She celebrated her first holiday - Thanksgiving.

Her weight swung from 9 lbs 13 oz to 9 lbs 3 oz, then back up to 10 pounds by the end of the month.

She never confused day time with night time, but liked to stay up very late. We were lucky to sleep from 12:00-3:00, wake up to nurse, then sleep again from 4:00-7:00.

We were all sleepy!

Daddy's girl

Hey - whose idea was this?!? I was warm!
I remember lying there on the operating table as Leah was born - just crying with happiness and listening to my baby's first cries. It was such an amazing moment. I was hearing MY BABY. Wow.

Daddy...
I love this picture of Bryan with the doctors as they first examined Leah. The look on his face captures everything we were thinking and feeling.

Number 6!
Bryan's parents were absolutely thrilled to welcome their 6th grandbaby.

We are FINALLY grandparents!
Kim's parents were overwhelmed with happiness to finally have a grandbaby!

Someone call Keebler...
Leah looked like a little elf in this outfit when we took her home from the hospital

Rest for the weary...
Here's Mommy in the hospital with my little peanut. Leah slept all the time for about a week before we realized how spunky she is!

A pensive moment...
It's hard to capture the essence of a baby in a photo but I think this one really grabs the look of Leah in her early weeks. She seemed to be deep in thought at times - trying to make sense of all the newness around her.

Leah looks so much like her daddy at this point! When he is holding her, it just looks like the big version and little version of the same person!

War Eagle!
Leah cheered Auburn to victory over Alabama in the final game of the regular season. She was 8 days old in this picture.
